My hard disk is 320Gb, how
could it be full?
Temporary
Internet Files can be deleted! Does
Windows really index every
temporary internet file? Did you wonder why this happened? A lot of people don’t actually notice for quite some time that their computer is getting slower, they just suddenly realise one day ... and then they can’t understand how it happened. If you are a frequent internet browser chances are that you will have many temporary files and temporary internet files (including cookies) residing on your hard disk. This combined with music, photos and other downloads will quickly fill up the hard drive of your computer, thus slowing it down as the amount of space is reduced. However, with the larger hard disks we can get now this problem is not as bad as it used to be. There is still an issue though, because whilst these temporary files exist in large numbers they have the effect of slowing down your computer. These can be cleaned manually, but you will need to know something about a computer and software to do this, and it will take you a long time assuming you know how to do it. Why do we need to clean these files, doesn’t Windows do this for us? The answer is quite clear, no matter what we do to the Internet Explorer settings these files are never totally removed by Windows. And unfortunately, the more that you have on your computer the slower your computer will become. In the event that you decide to get a technician to do this for you, he or she will more than likely use a clean and repair program. This is because the software can do a better job than a manual approach and it can be done much quicker. If you wish to download and install clean and repair software yourself, the basic scans that are done will improve the computers performance noticeably, then you can schedule the software for regular monitoring of your temporary files and to do other optimising tasks if you like. These programs are not expensive and can be a real bonus to maintaining your computer in good condition. And you could always do a backup! |
